David J. Braiterman, Esq.

David J. Braiterman received his B.A. from Brandeis University cum laude in 1978, and began his career in the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s office in Concord.  He received his Juris Doctorate from Franklin Pierce Law Center, in Concord, New Hampshire, in 1984 and then served a one-year clerkship with the New Hampshire Supreme Court. 

David began in private law practice in 1985, and founded Braiterman Law Offices in 1992.  David serves clients of Braiterman Law Offices in all areas of domestic relations, including pre-nuptial agreements, divorce, legal separation, child custody, child support, alimony and spousal support, and the like.

David has been a member of the Family Law Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association throughout his legal career, and served as its Chair from 1990-1993 and 1996-1998.  David served on the Board of Governors of the New Hampshire Bar Association from 1993-1995.  Additionally, he has been a member of the the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education and Proposed Codification of Rules of Civil Procedure committees.  David has served on many Bench/Bar committees. 

David was appointed by Governor Jeanne Shaheen as a member of the New Hampshire Task Force on Family Law, whose two year long study report in November 2004 prompted the most sweeping changes in New Hampshire’s domestic relations law of custody and parenting in decades.  (See Concord Monitor Editorial, August 2005.)  He has served on the New Hampshire District Court’s Court Improvement Project whose work from 1998 to 2003 revamped New Hampshire’s procedures for child abuse and termination of parental rights cases.  David is a frequent speaker on family law issues to both lawyers and the public.

David was appointed by Governor John Lynch in 2006 as a Public Member of the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice, which licenses and regulates the five mental health professions in New Hampshire. David is also a certified Guardian ad Litem representing children in court, and an active member of the Merrimack County Teen Court Advisory Board. David serves as a Neutral Evaluator in marital cases in the New Hampshire Superior Court and Family Court systems.

David resides in Concord, New Hampshire with his wife, Lisa, and their two children.  He enjoys all outdoor activities, particularly skiing, fishing, camping, and landscaping.
